Appearance: White to off-white crystalline powder

Assay: ≥ 98% (API standard)

Solubility: Freely soluble in water; soluble in ethanol

Stability: More stable in aqueous formulations than the base form

Common dosage forms: Injectable solution, oral solution, bolus, premix (mainly veterinary use)

Mode of Action: Imidazothiazole anthelmintic; acts as a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist in nematode muscle cells → sustained contraction → spastic paralysis → expulsion from the host.  

Spectrum: Broad-spectrum activity against gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes (adult and larval stages).  

Additional Effects: Immunomodulatory effects by enhancing T-cell–mediated immune response.
